myCAP System Summary
myCAP (my Collaborative Annotation Portal) provides an environment for descriptive genomics. It is specifically developed for the purpose of large-scale annotation projects. Its current version only handles prokaryote genome projects. The next version will be able to accomodate EST projects. myCAP has the following features:
- User account & project management
- Controlled access allowing read/write privilege
- Browsing, searching, editing annotations
- Tracking annotation revision history
- Storing and retrieving evidences supporting the annotations
- Storing and retrieving comparative genomics data
myCAP is a component of the data management & analysis platform developed at ICBR to facilitate large-scale genomics and proteomics studies. The other components are BQ (BlastQuest), EQ (ExpressionQuest) and PQ (ProteomicQuest).
